Plans have been lodged to operate a new burger and kebab van in a Wiltshire town’s historic Market Place.
A street trading licence application for a 10ft catering van in Devizes Market Place has been submitted to Wiltshire Council and is now under consultation.
If approved, the van would be located in the Market Place car park and would serve burgers, kebabs, and chips between the hours of 4pm and 11pm.

Among those to be consulted on the plans is Devizes Town Council and its planning committee will discuss whether they support the idea during a meeting on Tuesday, December 3.
Even if the street trader, who has not been identified, is able to obtain a licence, they will still need to strike an agreement with the town council to occupy land in the Market Place.
A report by town council officers noted that, in the past, the town council has generally objected to similar arrangements.
It said: “In the past the Council has not supported applications to trade in the Market Place due to the potential visual impact within the conservation area and because such trading would unfairly compete with established traders in the area who have high operational costs.”
