Three young people who are believed to have set a bin on fire and then fled the scene have been detained by Wiltshire Police.
On Saturday, November 16, police officers were on patrol in Marlborough High Street when a member of the public informed them of a group of young people seen acting suspiciously in St Mary's Church Yard.
When officers arrived, they found a bin belonging to Marlborough Town Council had been set on fire, and three young boys with hoods up were seen fleeing the scene.
The Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Brigade was called to put out the flames, and police at the scene were able to catch the youths in the Plume of Feathers Garden just off Kelham Gardens.

When searched, one of the young people was found to be carrying a small amount of cannabis.
All three youths, who cannot be named due to their age, were detained and their parents or guardians were made aware of the incident.
"The youths responsible are to be dealt with formally in respect of this incident in due course," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
