A driver has had a miraculous escape after their vehicle overturned during rush hour on a busy A-road.
Emergency services were called to the A419 near Cirencester on Wednesday, November 20 at around 16:50pm following reports a vehicle had left the carriageway.
They discovered an overturned vehicle which had left the southbound carriageway and the driver escaped uninjured.
One eyewitness described seeing at least two police vehicles and two fire engines rushing to the scene with their lights and sirens on, while traffic began to queue.
The southbound carriageway on the A419 was partially closed and reopened later on Wednesday evening.
A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We were called following a report that a vehicle had left the A419 near Cirencester and overturned at around 16.50pm yesterday (20 November).
“A partial closure was put in place on the A419 southbound carriageway between Cirencester and Cerney Wick and was lifted later that evening.
“The driver did not sustain any injuries.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 16:55hrs on Wednesday 20 November to an incident in South Cerney. We sent one double-crewed ambulance and an operations officer to the scene.”
