Two Wiltshire pubs have won big at the Loo of the Year Awards 2024.
The Bridge House in Chippenham and The Silk Mercer in Devizes, both owned by JD Wetherspoon, were among entrants across the UK who were visited by inspectors.
The national awards rates bathrooms on their decor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment and overall management.
Following unannounced visits, both pubs won acclaim and were handed Platinum ratings, bettered only by Platinum Plus and Diamond.
This is an improvement for The Bridge House, which scooped a lower Gold grade last year.

Manager Christopher Stevens was “delighted” with the result.
He said: “We are delighted with the grading. Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors."
The Loo of the Year Awards aims to highlight and improve the standards of ‘away from home’ toilet provision across the country.
Managing director Becky Wall added: “The toilets at The Bridge House have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are both clean and well maintained.
“The pub deserves its platinum award.”
