Hundreds of pounds worth of equipment used to cultivate nearly 200 plants at a cannabis farm in Trowbridge has been found dumped outside the property.

The equipment, including electronic timers, reflectors and air purifiers, was left on the pavement outside the historic Handle House in Stallard Street.

Stuart Long, the owner of Handle House, said: "I came down on Tuesday to clear some of their stuff out and left some metal bins or whatever they are outside for the scrap man to collect.

"I did the same three weeks ago and they collected everything."

Police confirmed in July that Mr Long, who runs companies in the New Forest area of Hampshire, is not believed to be a suspect.

Close to 200 plants were found by Wiltshire Police when they raided the cannabis farm on Tuesday, July 23 after being tipped off by a member of the public.

Police were alerted after the passer-by saw the Heras fence surrounding the Grade II* listed property had been broken and that a door was open.

He then smelt an “incredibly strong” aroma of cannabis and called the emergency services.

The property was immediately sealed off and guarded while a police forensic investigation team gathered evidence.

In August, Wiltshire Police confirmed that no-one has yet been arrested or charged. They have been asked for an update on their investigation.

There were just under 200 plants found in the early stages of growth and worth approximately £1,000 when fully mature.

Officers later removed the plants and some of the equipment for disposal but appear to have left behind equipment worth hundreds of pounds.
