The Salvation Army’s Christmas Present Appeal was officially launched this week and all its collection points are ready to receive your donations.
The charitable organisation is hoping residents in west Wiltshire will donate brand-new unwrapped gifts and toys for children aged 0-18 years up to Monday, December 2 when the appeal closes.
Collection points are as follows:
- Tesco Extra, County Way, Trowbridge, during normal shop hours
- The Works, The Shires, Trowbridge, during normal shop hours
- The Shires Management Office, Trowbridge, Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm, Sundays 10.30am-4pm
- Morrisons Warminster, during normal shop hours
- Morrisons Westbury, during normal shop hours
- Trowbridge Debt Advice Service, 55 Stallard Street, Tuesdays 9am-9pm and Wednesdays 9am-5pm ONLY
Salvation Army Church Leader, Michala Lancefield in Trowbridge, said: “We are so grateful to all our donation points who support us every year – the appeal would not be the success it is without them.
“Of course, at many of our collection points you can also buy gifts, so if you’re not sure when or where you can buy a present for our appeal, you can buy and donate all at the same time at our partner locations.”

At the end of November there will also be two opportunities to take gifts directly to The Salvation Army Hall in Castle Street, Trowbridge, on Friday, November 29 between 4.30pm and 6.30pm, and on Saturday, November 30 between 10am and 2pm.
Michala added: “We are so grateful to both individuals and groups who donate to the appeal, because without you it really wouldn’t be possible to help those most in need in our communities.
“Groups such as schools and pre-schools, churches and shops, businesses and factories, social groups, military establishments and village communities often come together to organise a joint collection of toys and gifts and we are always pleased to hear from such groups and to work with you.”
If for whatever reason you are unable to donate a gift, Michala says you can still support the appeal with a financial donation.
“A financial gift can be made via our just giving page or you can bring cash or a cheque directly to our hall on one of our open days,” she said.
“Money donated enables us to purchase food vouchers for the families referred to us as well as wrapping paper to complete the Christmas experience for families.”
