Trowbridge town councillors have voted to ‘streamline’ their annual community grants process for next year to make it easier for organisations applying for funds.
The council’s budget for community grants in 2025/26 is anticipated to be £55,000.
Councillors approved the changes at their policy and resources committee meeting on Tuesday, November 5. They are likely to be ratified at the full council meeting on Tuesday, November 19.
A council spokesperson said: “From next year all community grants, including budgeted direct funding contributions to community organisations will be merged into one funding pot and the council will have a single application process, streamlining funding requests.
“Implementing this unified approach, Trowbridge Town Council can better support community organisations and ensure that funding is allocated based on need and merit.
“This new grant process will foster collaboration and growth within the community, ultimately benefiting the residents of Trowbridge.”
Applications for community grants will open mid-January and close on April 30, 2025.
Community grants will be considered at the policy and resources committee meeting in June and grants will be distributed to successful applicants in July 2025.
So far this year, Trowbridge Town Council has awarded grants totalling £51,800 to support 32 local community organisations.
