Specsavers has opened a new shop in Melksham which is twice the size of its previous unit in the town.
The new store at 14-16 Bank Street, on the other side of the road to the previous store, was officially opened on November 6 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and branded cupcakes for visitors to enjoy.
Store director Alice Cole said: "Lots of hard work has gone on behind the scenes in the last few months to get the new store ready and a big thank you to all the team for making it possible.
"The move allows us to provide a better customer experience, enhanced facilities, and an improved working environment for the team too, so we’re really excited about our next chapter.
"After all the planning, it was fantastic to be able to open our doors and welcome customers."
The new store has five testing rooms, a dedicated audiology department with increased services including wax removal, and a specialist contact lens area.
State-of-the-art equipment has been installed throughout, including an Optical Coherence Tomography machine.
This technology allows optometrists to take a 3D image of the back of an eye to help spot serious conditions, including glaucoma, up to four years earlier.
