A man has been left with head injuries after being assaulted with a bat in Wiltshire.
Officers responded to reports of an assault on Long Close Avenue in Corsham at just before 2am on Saturday, November 9 involving two men who are known to each other.
A man in his 50s suffered cuts to the head and bruising to the body and required medical treatment.
Police believe there was a disorder involving the pair on Friday evening at around 10:40pm at The British Legion, Corsham.
Two men in their 30s have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A man from Melksham was arrested on suspicion of ABH, coercive and controlling behaviour and stalking, while a second man from Corsham was arrested for assisting an offender, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of cannabis.
Both men have been released on bail pending a further investigation and police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen either of the incidents.
