A character public house situated in a popular Wiltshire village has been put up for sale with a £350,000 guide price.
The ‘for sale’ sign went up at the Kings Arms at Hilperton Marsh near Trowbridge on Monday, November 11.
The pub is being sold by its owners Star Pubs & Bars through licensed, leisure and commercial property specialists WTS Property Consultants of Birmingham.
Pub managers Richard Webb and his partner Sheila Smith said the first they knew of the sale was when the sign went up.
“It’s a managed pub but we can’t afford to buy it,” Mr Webb said.
“We’ve had loads of people coming in recently. It’s been manic here. We have been really busy.”
The pub in Wyke Road, Hilperton, is prominently located on a busy roundabout with good levels of passing traffic and is close to the Kennet & Avon Canal.
WTS Property Consultants say: “The property will appeal to local licensed operators, developers, builders and investors.
"It also has alternate use potential, subject to obtaining the necessary consents.”
Star Pubs & Bars says: “There are 2,111 adults living within walking distance of the Kings Arms and no competitor pubs within a ten-minute walk.
“The nearby canal and boatyard attracts ample tourists to the area for those looking for a barge holiday.”
