Donald Trump has won the 2024 US presidential election and will soon serve a second term as President of the United States of America.
The 78-year-old Republican Party leader’s election-day defeat of Democrat Kamala Harris was announced on Wednesday, 6 November.
Since then Wiltshire residents have been reacting to the news.
While some celebrated the victory many others say they are 'worried' for the future.
"God help us all," said Bryan Sheppard.
"Worried! He is a dangerous man," said Jackie Bedford, while Lark Kee warned it was time to, "Baton down the hatches."
"I can't help thinking, the world will come to regret this let's hope I'm wrong," said Kevin McCaffrey.
Ellen Rebecca described the news as "terrifying", and Pauline Hamblin called it "a nightmare".
But for Mavis Joseph it was happy news as she posted: "If you're really really living in America you will be glad that he won.
"We will have four years of peace and security, great economy, our borders will be closed. He did that before and he will do it again - the American people choose Trump as President."
Others in Wiltshire spoke out to honour the values of democracy, with Dean Barrett stating: "the majority have spoken, there is no more to say".
