The council said the roads will be closed to all traffic in the interests of public safety to enable contractors to carry out urgent surfacing and associated works.
It added: “These works will commence on November 11, 2024 and are anticipated to be required for five days between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59.”
The works will enable the contractors to complete resurfacing and associated works as part of the Manvers Street improvements.
The works are due to be completed by early December but may be finished ahead of schedule by mid-November.
The alternative route for drivers is via the unaffected length of Church Street to Union Street, Timbrell Street, Union Street, and the B3106.
The council; added: “The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
“Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.”
