The following cases were heard at magistrates courts in Swindon and Salisbury.

MALMESBURY: On Tuesday, October 8, three teenagers who cannot be named for legal reasons were sentenced for aggravated vehicle taking and criminal damage.

The trio, aged 17, 16, and 15, pleaded guilty to taking a tractor from Garsdon without consent, between July 1 and July 4 2022, and over £5,000 of damage was caused to the vehicle before it was recovered.

During the incident, damage was also caused to crops and fields at the Charlton Park Estate.

The 17-year-old and the 16-year-old were banned from driving for 12 months and slapped with youth rehabilitation orders.

The 15-year-old also admitted a string of other offences.

This includes causing £35,000 of criminal damage at Malmesbury School, taking another tractor days after the original offence and causing over £5,000 worth of damage, and racially aggravated harassment.

They were ordered to pay £100 in compensation and slapped with a Youth Rehabilitation Order.

CHIPPENHAM: On Tuesday, October 8, a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons was sentenced for threatening to disclose private sexual photographs or films.

The teenager pleaded guilty to threatening to disclose a private sexual photograph or film without the consent of the person involved in 2022.

They also admitted making and possessing multiple indecent images of a child, again in 2022.

They were slapped with a youth referral order and a phone and digital devices were seized.

MELKSHAM: On Tuesday, October 8, a 16-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons was sentenced for burglary at a school.

The teenager pleaded guilty to trespassing at Melksham Oak Community School with the intention to steal on November 21 last year.

The teenager was ordered to pay £50 in compensation and slapped with a youth referral order.

WARMINSTER: On Tuesday, October 8, Robert Lawrence, of St Stephen’s Place in Lansdown, Bath, was sentenced for failing to stop after a crash in Wiltshire.

The 79-year-old pleaded guilty to failing to stop after he was involved in a crash while driving on the A36 at Warminster on March 23.

He was fined £166, his driving record was endorsed with five points, and he was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £66 surcharge.

CALNE: On Tuesday, October 8, Christopher Smith, of Dunnet Close, was sentenced for driving while banned from the roads.

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to driving on the A350 in Chippenham while banned from holding a licence and driving without insurance.

He was banned from driving for 36 months, ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work, and must pay £85 in costs.

CHIPPENHAM: On Tuesday, October 8, Joel Sebastian, of Flowers Yard, was sentenced for drink driving.

The 26-year-old pleaded guilty to driving on New Road in Chippenham on September 20 while the proportion of alcohol in his breath was 43 micrograms per 100 millilitres.

He was banned from driving for 12 months, to be reduced by 91 days on completion of a course, fined £250, and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £100 surcharge.

CHIPPENHAM: On, Wednesday, October 9, Jake Clark, of Portway, was sentenced for two counts of assault.

The 28-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting two women by beating them in Chippenham on May 27.

He was ordered to pay £150 in compensation for each count.

CHIPPENHAM: On Wednesday, October 10, Samuel Sneyd, of Wood Lane, was sentenced for theft from a shop.

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing spirits worth £400 from Morrisons in Devizes on April 29.

He was ordered to pay £400 in compensation and £85 in costs.
