The council has issued a warning that the application deadline to apply to secondary school is today.

If a child is due to start secondary school in 2025, Thursday, October 31 is their last day to apply to up to three schools in Swindon and Wiltshire.

The school that is preferred most can be set as the first choice, but the council recommends that parents fill out all three preferences.

A Swindon Borough Council spokesperson said: “Don't miss out! The deadline for secondary school applications is today (31 October).

“If your child is due to start secondary school in 2025, make sure to submit their application.

“You can apply for up to three schools, with the option to put the most preferred school as your first choice. It’s highly recommended that you fill out all three preferences for the best outcome.”

You can apply for a secondary school place for September 2025 for a child born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014, from 1 September 2024 until 11.59pm on 31 October 2024.

The offer day will be March 3, 2025 and the deadline day for then accepting an offer is March 17.

The same dates and timings apply to both Swindon and Wiltshire councils and you can apply on your council’s website.
