A group of masked males allegedly tried to rob a 12-year-old boy at knifepoint in Swindon.

Police are investigating the incident, which reportedly took place at around 4.30pm on Thursday, October 24, in the Queens Drive and Hanbury Road area.

The 12-year-old boy was riding home in a pushbike when he was reportedly surrounded by a group of six males wearing balaclavas.

They allegedly demanded that the boy give them the bike and one male, wearing a black tracksuit with a red Trapstar logo on the chest, allegedly pulled out a knife.

The victim was able to ride away from the scene uninjured and the group was last seen walking onto Queens Drive towards Lawns.

Two of the suspects were described as wearing black tracksuits and the other four wore all grey tracksuits.

Police have launched an investigation into the alleged incident and have urged any witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery which took place at 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon (October 24).

“If you witnessed this incident, or saw a group of males wearing balaclavas in this area last Thursday, please contact 101 quoting crime reference number 54240126088.”
