The owners of a Wiltshire pub and café group have confirmed several of their businesses are still up and running despite closure fears.

Ben and Tom Morgan, of BeeTees Ltd, confirmed that the temporary closures were due to a decision to restructure their business.

They spoke following rumours and to counter ‘nasty and vile comments’ on social media.

Tom said: “Ben has stepped down as a director of BeeTees Ltd because of ill-health.

“He has been unwell for some time and receiving chemotherapy. He is not in a healthy enough condition to contribute to the business.”

A check of the Government’s Companies House website shows that Ben Morgan, 35, resigned as a director of Beetees Ltd on October 23.

Tom, 37, said they briefly closed the Wiltshire Yeoman, the Courthouse and the BeeTees Café Bar in Trowbridge, and the Canal Tavern in Bradford on Avon to inform staff.

He added: “We reopened Yeoman over the weekend and the BeeTees Café Bar, the Courthouse and the Canal Tavern were back open yesterday.

“While the business has been restructured, everything is running normally.”

Mr Morgan said the pair had decided not to respond to the rumours and ‘nasty and vile comments’ they had seen on local social media.

“We didn’t respond to the rumours and comments, some of which were nasty and vile. We are back open and operating as normal.

“Ben has been ill for a while now. We have just got to let him heal and get well again.”

The Courthouse pub in Castle Street is to be renamed the Moody Goose following a significant investment to refurbish the premises.

BeeTees Ltd also runs the café in the atrium at County Hall for Wiltshire Council staff and visitors.
