The following cases were heard at magistrates courts in Swindon and Salisbury.
WARMINSTER: On Saturday, October 5, Daniel Lamp, of Silver Street, was sentenced for possession of an offensive weapon in public and other offences.
The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to having an extendable baton and a Stanley craft shaped blade melted onto a plastic handle while in Trowbridge on May 30.
He also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress, and failed to surrender to custody at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on September 20, while on bail.
Lamp was jailed for a total of eight months and the weapons were forfeited.
CHIPPENHAM: On Saturday, October 5, Levi Workman, of Hither Close, was sentenced for failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
The 44-year-old was found guilty of failing to give blood at Melksham on June 10, during an investigation into whether he had committed a road traffic offence.
He was banned from driving for a year, fined £1,000, and ordered to pay £650 in costs and a £400 surcharge.
TROWBRIDGE: On Friday, October 4, Zachary Bevis, of Ashtree Road in Frome, was sentenced for eight counts of theft from a shop.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to all eight offences, which included thefts totalling more than £1,433 worth of items from Next, Sainsbury’s, and Tesco in Trowbridge, and the Co-op in Bradford on Avon.
The products stolen included hundreds of pounds worth of clothes, two bottles of alcohol, and food items.
Bevis also admitted entering an address in Trowbridge which was under a closure order on August 21.
He was given a total prison sentence of 36 weeks, suspended for two years, must not enter Next in Trowbridge for two years, and must complete 50 hours of unpaid work.
SOUTHWICK: On Friday, October 4, Steven Ford, of Dorney Road in Swindon, was sentenced for trespassing in animal park and multiple counts of fraud.
The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to entering the Fairfield Animal Centre (formerly Hope Nature Centre) in August 2021 with the intent to steal.
He also admitted stealing a purse including £300 in cash and bank cards in Bradford on Avon in September 2021 and three counts of fraud by false representation to pay for goods valued at over £450 in the same month.
Ford was ordered to pay £780 in compensation, fined £275, and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge.
TROWBRIDGE: On Friday, October 4, Ashley Palmer, of no fixed abode, was sentenced for theft from a shop.
The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing a mouse and keyboard worth £134.98 from Currys in Trowbridge on April 18.
He was jailed for four weeks.
CHIPPENHAM: On Friday, October 4, Noah Sykes, of Easton Lane, was sentenced for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress.
The 20-year-old admitted to the offence, which took place in Chippenham on September 13.
He was fined £80.
MELKSHAM: On Friday, October 4, Sasha-Marie King, of Berryfield Park, was sentenced for drink driving.
The 30-year-old pleaded guilty to driving on her street on September 15 when the proportion of alcohol in her breath was 43 micrograms per 100 millilitres.
She was banned from driving, for 12 months, to be reduced by 91 days on completion of a course, and fined £120.
King was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £48 surcharge.
