A pub has gone up for sale as the landlady hopes to move on from the business.

Amanda Gaigneroc runs the Carriers Arms in South Marston and her parents own the building, having bought the freehold from Punch Pubs around 2013.

The Highworth Road pub remains open, and Amanda hopes it will remain open under a new owner after putting it up for sale for £425,000 with Richard James.(Image: Richard James)

She said: “I'm still running the pub but it needs a new person to move it in a different direction.

“Hopefully it will stay a pub because it'd be nice if it was still the village pub.”

She said: “It definitely needs the food. And just someone with a real passion for it and to do lots of different things - coffee mornings, wakes, birthdays, Christmas - and everything else.”

Amanda herself is hoping to go travelling in the south of France. She said: “I have mixed feelings, but at some point, I really needed to move on.

“It’s starting a new chapter of my life really. I don’t know what my future holds yet.”
