An American-style restaurant BBQ and smokehouse takeaway serving fresh locally sourced barbecue food has been nominated for a Good Food Award.

Bob 'N' Buck's, in Maristow Street, Westbury, has been nominated for a Good Food Award 2024 in the takeaway category.

The owner, Luke Alford, 39, is now anxiously waiting to find out whether his fledgling business will be named best takeaway in Wiltshire.

Luke said: “I am absolutely delighted. The official announcement is on Monday, November 4.

“The letter says ‘Congratulations, you’re a Good Food Award winner 2024’ but there’s quite a few different categories.

“I know that we were nominated for best takeaway category so that will be the one. I am 99 per cent certain that we have won in that category.”

Mr Alford says they started running a pop-up business at local events and it became so popular they launched the takeaway in retail premises.

He is helped by his partner Katie Fricker, who like Luke, a former lorry driver, comes from Trowbridge. The couple now live in Westbury with their four children.

Bob 'N' Buck's BBQ Bar is passionate about American style food that is both fresh and full of flavour and uses locally-sourced products.

He added: “We started by creating our own delicious speciality burgers. The highest level of passion and care is put into each individual burger experience and menu item, with attention to meat mixes, methods, seasonings, and flavours.

“All our food is prepared with all locally sourced meat from the Butcher Bros, and your order is freshly prepared once placed.

“We specialise in burgers, hotdogs, American smoked BBQ food, we also have vegetarian options and recently added delicious, sweet treats for afters.”

Mr Alford also thanked Bob ‘N’ Bucks loyal customers for voting for the takeaway, saying they had made the award nomination possible.

The Good Food Awards celebrate and acknowledge culinary diversity throughout the UK. Established in 2002, they have earned a reputation as a respected authority in the food industry.
