A new restaurant is set to open in a prominent town centre venue left empty for months.

The Weaving Shed in Bradford on Avon closed its doors earlier this year after over eight years in the town and the building, which sits on the River Avon, has been empty since then.

Now a new business has taken over the restaurant and will be reopening as The Sweetpea Kitchen at the Weaving Shed on Saturday, October 12.

The Sweetpea Kitchen is a family run business operated by Clive and Helen Jackson-Wilding and their son Ed.

Mrs Jackson-Wilding said the family was “excited” to open the doors of its new home.

She added: “We’re really excited and so far everyone who has popped in to see us has been really welcoming which is lovely.”

Mrs Jackson-Wilding emphasised that the family hopes to embed itself in its new community and breathe new life into a “beautiful” venue.

“We’re bringing our team over from Corsham and we’re all keen to be part of the community”, she said.

“We want to get to know our customers and make sure we give them a warm, friendly welcome when they come in.

“It’s a beautiful venue and we’re so excited.”

The move has also given the business a chance to refresh its menu, and customers should expect to leave feeling “warm inside.”

The Sweetpea Kitchen’s website promises “comfort food made with quality ingredients” with the menu full of dishes that the family likes to eat at home.

This includes a Full English and other breakfast options, burgers, scotch eggs, and more.

The Jackson-Wildings say they are also focused on sustainability, in order to make sure that they serve “food to be enjoyed in the present & more importantly in the future.”

The Sweetpea Kitchen will open for the first time in Bradford on Avon at 10am.

After that, the eatery will be open between 10am and 4pm Monday to Thursday, 10am to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10am to 3pm on Sundays.
