A lorry fire has closed a busy main road through Wiltshire.
Several firefighters are battling burning piles of straw that a vehicle was carrying along the A303 near Chicklade.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "The A303 is closed near Chicklade following a fire on a truck transporting with hay.
"The road is closed in both directions around the the junction with the A350.
"Please seek alternative routes."
A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "We were called 7:41am today with reports of a large vehicle fire on the A303 between the A350 junction and Chicklade.
"Crews from Shaftesbury, Warminster, Mere and the water carrier from Wilton were mobilised along with an appliance from Wincanton (Devon & Somerset FRS) and on arrival found a lorry carrying straw alight.
"Crews are working to extinguish the fire which started in the cab area and spread to the straw load. The road is closed in both directions whilst the crews work to put the fire out."
Road users travelling westbound are advised to follow the 'Solid Circle' diversion symbol on road signs.
Road users travelling eastbound are advised to follow the 'Solid Diamond' diversion symbol on road signs.
