River levels are high in a Wiltshire town centre after a flood alert was issued for the area.
The River Avon remains high in Chippenham town centre after days of heavy rainfall across Wiltshire.
A flood alert was issued for the area surrounding the river through the town by the Environment Agency on Monday, September 23, and remains in place at the time of writing.
While the rain has now stopped in the town, and there are no more heavy downpours forecast for Tuesday, river levels remain high.

The flood alert covers the River Avon through Chippenham, from Melksham up to Malmesbury.
An Environment Agency spokesperson warned that over 30mm has fallen on the catchment in 24 hours and, while property flooding is not expected, low lying areas remain at risk.
Locations most at risk include Tetbury, Badminton, Brook End at Luckington, Corsham, Lacock, and the road at Reybridge.
The Environment Agency added it will continue to monitor the situation and may issue flood warnings if it worsens.
