Work is underway to reopen Westbury’s main Post Office following its ‘temporary’ closure in January last year.
The Post Office is to reopen the branch in Westbury High Street under new management at 1pm on Wednesday, October 9.
It will be based at the same location inside the convenience store at 30 High Street which is undergoing refurbishment.
Westbury mayor Cllr Jane Russ said "I am so delighted for the Westbury community that the Post Office is reopening. It will be wonderful to have it back."
The reopening will restore a local community service to the town and follows its closure in January 2023 when the McColls convenience was shut as part of cutbacks.
Antoinette Chitty, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring Post Office services to High Street, Westbury, as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.”
The branch opening hours will be Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm. This will provide 60 hours of Post Office service a week for the convenience of customers.
Customers of main UK banks will be able to access their accounts at the new branch. Services will include bill payment, cash withdrawals and foreign currency, postage, home shopping collections and parcel returns.
