A former public house that has been empty for eight years could be converted into nine apartments.
Town councillors in Warminster raised no objection to plans to convert The John Barleycorn pub in Weymouth Street into nine apartments over the ground and second floors.
The applicant, Robert Selwood Ltd of London, is applying for planning consent to convert the Grade II listed pub, which closed in April 2016.
The plans also include the demolition of the link building, continued Class E use within the basement area, the development of a detached two-storey townhouse in the existing car park area, along with parking for 14 vehicles, refuse and cycle parking storage.
Class E use allows for a variety of uses in a building, including different uses at different times of the day or multiple uses simultaneously.
Adrian Pickford, a director of Chinn Brothers Ltd, which owns Chinns Court, next door to the application site, said: "I am only too pleased to see the existing public house being converted to dwellings, as proposed in the application."
Warminster Town Council raised no objection at its planning advisory committee meeting on Monday, September 16.
Wiltshire Council is expected to decide the application by the end of October.
