A “dreamy” Wiltshire village has been named as one of the UK’s 20 best secret villages to live in.
The Sunday Times has listed the best “under the radar” village communities in the country in an attempt to showcase the “friendliest and prettiest” spots many may not have heard of.
Among the top 20 is Hindon in Wiltshire, located just south of the A303, less than 10 miles from Warminster.
The Times’ Tim Palmer praised the village for its “surprisingly convenient” location and selection of “cosy” pubs.

He said: “Throw a dart into the glorious chalky landscape of Cranborne Chase, and you’re guaranteed to hit a dreamy village, all rose-covered stone cottages and cosy pubs with open fires and upmarket menus.
“There are plenty to choose from, but Hindon is one of the very best.
“A tiny community-run shop and post office and two good pubs keep it the right side of sleepy; the village primary is rated good by Ofsted and there are allotments, a flower show and various clubs and societies.
“With an imposing church and a timeless main street — rebuilt after a “great fire” in the 18th century — lined with plane trees, Hindon is a looker at any time of year.”
