A Wiltshire man has been caught drunk driving for the fourth time and is waiting to be sentenced.
Mark Hulbert, 43, of Westfield Close, Trowbridge, pleaded guilty to driving when his alcohol level was above the legal limit at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, September 4.
Ms Prince, prosecuting, said Hulbert had been caught after police officers received a report from a member of the public around 10pm on Saturday, August 17 about a Volkswagen Golf driver trying to operate the vehicle with a flat tyre.
Officers then found Hulbert in the driver’s seat of the Golf stopped in the middle of The Toy Shop Car Park in Castle Street, where he said he was there to pick up his cousins and was oblivious to the flat tyre.
Following a breathalyser test, they realised he was over the legal alcohol limit and at the station he blew a reading of 62 microgames of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the limit being 35.
In mitigation, Ms Dunne, said Hulbert, who last had a drink driving conviction in November 2020, knew he had made a “huge error of judgment” and was “fully prepared to accept his punishment.”

She said he was upset following an argument with his former partner and denies having a drinking problem, adding that Hulbert had been disqualified from driving several times and always obeyed the ban.
Ms Dunne told the court Hulbert had been having a difficult time with his health and has not consumed alcohol for three weeks.
The hearing was adjourned until Friday, September 13 at the same court.
Meanwhile, he is disqualified from driving in the interim and has unconditional bail.
