A man is in custody after a car shattered a brick wall in Wiltshire.
Bricks were scattered across the road when the silver car crashed on a bend of Wylye Road in Warminster driving towards Lower Marsh Road shortly before 10pm on Tuesday, August 20.
The driver was seen to escape and the passenger was taken to Salisbury District Hospital with a suspected head injury.
A man in his 20s from Warminster was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
The road was closed for a period, and damage was also visible on structures by the road.
He is currently in custody at Melksham for questioning.
Anyone who witnessed the collision should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54240098360.
Wiltshire Police reminded the public that they are running a campaign to raise awareness of the fatal five offences – the offences most likely to contribute to a serious injury or fatal collision.
These are careless driving, driving at excess speed, drink or drug driving, failing to wear a seatbelt and using a mobile phone whilst driving.
