Several important routes off Major A-roads in a Wiltshire town will close for “urgent” roadworks.

Wiltshire Council has given advanced warning of a number of road closures that are likely to cause delays for drivers in Chippenham over the next few months.

All three closures will shut the roads to traffic to allow the council to carry out “urgent Bobcat patching works and other associated works.”

On August 27, Stainers Way will close for one night, just off the A350 Brook Roundabout, between the hours of 7pm and midnight.

In total, around 70 metres of the road will be shut, and drivers will be diverted onto the A350 West Cepen Way before rejoining Stainers Way at Badger Roundabout.

This will be followed by the closure of Bumpers Way, just off the A350 Bumpers Farm Roundabout, the next day.

The road will be closed during the same hours and the work is expected to be completed in one night.

Finally, on October 29, Avenue La Fleche will be shut for one night, between 8pm and midnight, from its junction with the A4 at the Lidl roundabout, to its junction with London Road.

Drivers travelling from the direction of the town centre have been advised to use the A4 Pewsham Way to join London Road.
