The mayor of Westbury has welcomed plans to reopen the town's Post Office saying it will be 'wonderful' to have it back.
The Post Office announced that the High Street branch is to reopen under new management to restore service to the community.
The move follows the closure of the Post Office in January last year when the McColls convenience was shut as part of cutbacks.
The Post Office has now announced it is to reopen the branch under new management at 1pm on Wednesday, October 9.
It will be based at the same location inside the convenience store at 30 High Street.
Westbury mayor Cllr Jane Russ said: "I am so delighted for the Westbury community that the Post Office is reopening.
"So many things are on the line these days but in reality a Post Office is the heart of a High Street and it will be wonderful to have it back."
Antoinette Chitty, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring Post Office services to High Street, Westbury, as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.”
The opening hours of the new branch will be Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm. This will provide 60 hours of Post Office service a week for the convenience of customers.
