A man has been taken to hospital following an alleged assault in Trowbridge.
At around 1.30am on Saturday, August 10, police received a report from the ambulance service that a man in his 30s had been allegedly assaulted in an alleyway near Castle Street following an argument.
The man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Following enquiries, a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
They remain in custody for questioning.
A cordon was put in place to allow for enquiries to be carried out and has now been lifted.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Please be reassured that the incident is thought to be isolated with the involved parties known to each other.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log 20 of today’s date.”
