Two of Wiltshire’s most visited family attractions have been listed among the best in the UK.
Lifestyle magazine Muddy Stilettos has named the top 50 UK family attractions to visit during the summer of 2024.
The extensive list includes castles, farms, adventure parks, and safaris, all of which are deemed “unmissable family day trips to tick off your list”.
And two of Wiltshire’s best-known destinations made the cut.
First up is Longleat Safari Park, near Warminster, which is described as “a stonking day out.”
Visitors to the well-known safari park can catch glimpses of lions, giraffes, monkeys, wolves, and more.

This can be followed up by a trip to the walk-through safari, boat tours of the lake, and, until September 1, an array of animatronic dinosaurs can be found in the Longhouse.
Day tickets to Longleat start at £32.50.
Also making the list, thanks to its “adrenaline-fuelled Adventure Playground, mile-long lake, and fab al fresco events”, is Bowood House and Gardens near Calne.
Home of the Marquis and Marchioness of Lansdowne, the house sits in 100 acres of landscaped parkland and hosts an Adventure Playground with a life-sized pirate ship.
Bowood has held a spate of events this summer, including the Wiltshire Game and Country Fair on the weekend of Saturday, August 10.
Family tickets to Bowood cost from £42.
