House buyers are snapping up 144 new homes in a Wiltshire village at the rate of more than one a week, according to a housebuilder.

Barratt David Wilson Homes South West says a launch event at two new show homes for its Buckley Gardens development at Berryfield attracted more than 90 visitors.

The company’s sales team has said it has been selling the new homes on the estate at a rate of more than one home per week since the end of June.

Buckley Gardens is a development of 144 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes located between the A350 and Semington Road at Berryfield to the north of the Hampton Park commercial area.

They include 43 affordable homes with a mixture of rent and shared ownership in partnership with Heylo, a shared ownership provider.

Close to the Kennett & Avon Canal, Buckley Gardens is surrounded by seven acres of open space and will also include new ponds, a play area and more than 100 new trees.

Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: “There has been a terrific amount of interest in Buckley Gardens since it opened just a few weeks ago.

“Unveiling two show homes will now give customers to get a feel for the quality of our homes here.”
