A road is to be closed at Limpley Stoke on the Wiltshire/Somerset border for urgent repairs to a rail bridge following vehicle strikes.
Rail infrastructure body, Network Rail, has written to residents telling them the road at Lower Stoke will be closed overnight on two days.
The company said: “Network Rail need to carry out urgent safety work and maintenance surveys of the Limpley Stoke railway bridge following recent bridge strikes by passing high roof vehicles.
“Lower Stoke will be closed from its junction with the A36 to its junction with Murhill from Monday, 5 August at 9pm overnight until Tuesday, 6 August 2024 at 5am. Then again overnight on Tuesday, 6 August at 9pm until Wednesday, 7 August at 5am.
