Close to 200 plants were found by Wiltshire Police who raided a cannabis factory in Trowbridge on Tuesday, July 23, it has been revealed.
As previously reported officers were tipped off by a member of the public passing by the historic Handle House in Stallard Street early in the morning.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said today: “No arrests have been made yet.
“There were just under 200 plants found, in the early stages and worth approximately £1,000 when fully mature.”
Police were alerted after the passer-by saw the Heras fence surrounding the Grade II* listed property had been broken and that a door was open.
He then smelt an “incredibly strong” aroma of cannabis and called the emergency services.
The property was immediately sealed off and guarded while a police forensic investigation team gathered evidence. Officers have since removed the plants and equipment for disposal.
