Five fire crews from Warminster, Westbury, Chippenham and Trowbridge tackled a blaze which destroyed a derelict building on Monday, July 29.
They were called out at 6.19pm to a fire in the building at Sandy Hole Lane in Westbury, the cause of which is currently unknown.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 6.19pm yesterday evening with reports of a fire on Sand Hole Lane, Westbury.
“Crews from Westbury, Warminster (x2), Trowbridge and Chippenham attended the incident which involved a derelict property, well alight on arrival and spreading to surrounding hedgerows.
“Eight breathing apparatus wearers used four hose reel jets and a main jet to extinguish the fire. Our stop was in at 8.32pm.
“Due to the extent of the damage, the cause of the fire remains unknown.”
A spokesperson for Trowbridge Fire Station added: “Last night Trowbridge Group 2 were mobilised to a fire in a derelict building along with Warminster Fire Station and Westbury Fire Station.
“The fire was brought under control and extinguished using breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and small tools.”
