The Good Food Guide has published its list of 100 Best Local Restaurants for 2024.
But none of those based in Wiltshire and Swindon have made the list.
The closest of the top recommended eateries to have made the cut is Sam and Jak in Cirencester.
The Scallop Shell in Bath, Woodspeen in Newbury, Pompette in Oxford are all not far away, while or Bristol has three shortlisted venues - Tare, Noah's and Caper + Cure.
The winners for the best restaurant in the South West were North Street Kitchen in Fowey, Cornwall, with French bistro Bavette in Leeds, winning the top national prize.
More than 60,000 nominations were sent by people championing their favourite place to eat and then Good Food Guide inspectors travelled the length and width of the country to try the restaurants for themselves.
What the inspectors look for is hands-on owners, contented customers and personal service.
