Well known NHS dentist Dr Mike Frain has died, aged 50.
Dr Frain's company owns and runs dental practices across Wiltshire and in Bristol, with over 40,000 NHS patients on its books. He had practices in Chippenham, Melksham, Calne and Swindon.
Dr Frain was born in Bristol and attended St Brendan's College and Bristol University, where he studied dental surgery.
He built up a dental practice that included 17 dentists across the South West before opening the Bell Barn practice in Stoke Bishop in his home city in 2004. Dr Frain died after returning from a brief holiday in Poole last weekend.
His father said: "Michael was always a huge enthusiast for the National Health Service system and campaigned for people to have access to NHS dental treatment.
"He was single and worked very hard so the business was his life and we will continue with that work.
"The family would like to thank everyone for their help over the last few days."
A funeral mass will be held at Clifton Cathedral on Wednesday, September 24 at 12 noon.
