New data has revealed the cheapest streets to buy a home in Wiltshire.
Property experts at AB Drylining, which specialises in renovating homes, have reviewed transaction records from HM Land Registry, between June 2023 and June 2024, to determine the most affordable locations in the county.
The number of properties on each road sold for less than the average house price of £366,144 was taken into account to pinpoint the most consistently budget-friendly options, rather than just analysing the average house prices.
Westmead Lane in Chippenham came out on top with 11 properties sold at an average price of £159,772.73 over the last year.
The residential road, near Borough Parade, was one of three Chippenham streets in the county’s top 10.
The average house price in Westmead Lane was more expensive than in second placed Spa Road in Melksham, but properties were more frequently sold under the average cost.
Archers Way in Amesbury rounded out the top three after eight properties were sold at an average cost of £331,437.50.
Other towns featured in the list included Salisbury, Devizes, Trowbridge, and Bradford on Avon.
The new data comes after the average house price in Wiltshire for first-time buyers rose by a fifth over the past five years.

- Nettleton Rise, Salisbury, SP4 6LJ – Seven properties sold at an average of £130,985.57.
- Whistler Road, Salisbury, SP2 9GS – Seven properties sold at an average of £309,852.14.
- Wharf Street, Devizes, SN10 1GA – Seven properties sold at an average of £224,142.86.
- Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, BA14 8HJ – Seven properties sold at an average of £106,707.14.
- James Close, Chippenham, SN15 3YA – Six properties sold at an average of £224,666.67.
- Wheatfield Avenue, Chippenham, SN14 0FX – Six properties sold at an average of £298,666.67.
- Church Street, Bradford on Avon, BA15 1HB – Six properties sold at an average of £192,666.67.
