Two people charged in connection with a man's death near Devizes have appeared in court in Swindon.

Officers were first called to Strawberry Fields shortly after 8pm on Tuesday, July 2 following reports that a man had been stabbed.

The man died at the scene and his identity is believed to be Raymond Groves, 48, from Hartcliffe, Bristol although formal identification has yet to be carried out.

As of Sunday, July 7, a scene remained in place in Strawberry Fields while specialist officers continued to carry out their investigation.

Anthony Hodges-Hillier, 33, of Brooklands, Royal Wootton Bassett is accused of murder and conspiracy to commit the murder.

Letishia Goodwin, 29, of Strawberry Fields, Easterton is accused of conspiracy to commit murder.

They appeared in Swindon Magistrates' Court on Monday, July 8, where they did not enter a plea.

They both appeared in the dock.

A third suspect, Helen Shakespeare, of Strawberry Fields, Easterton, already appeared on Saturday, July 6 at the same court accused of conspiracy to commit murder. She is also yet to enter a plea.

All three are due to appear in Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday, July 9.

An application for bail was entered for Goodwin but not Hodges-Hillier. 

She was not granted bail, and both will be remanded in custody likely to appear at their hearings via video link from prison.

Goodwin was represented by Mark Glendenning and Hodges-Hillier was represented by Tim Morgan.
