Voters across Wiltshire have been taking their dogs to their local polling stations as the country chooses its new MPs in the general election.
As more than 46 million UK voters go to the polls to pick a new MP the 2024 General Election is widely forecast to give the Labour Party an overwhelming majority in Parliament.
But the real winners of the day are your photographs of the pets you took along to polling stations throughout Wiltshire to cast your vote.
Dog owners took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and social media sites such as Facebook to post pictures of their pets patiently waiting while they cast their vote.
Whichever way you voted, I think we can all agree that dogs will make this day better, so here’s some of the photos that we and pet owners took on polling day.
Apart from assistance dogs, pooches are famously not allowed to go into polling stations. Many owners are forced to leave their pets tied up outside while they go in to cast their vote.
As a result, many pups have gone viral in recent years as they pose for photos outside the polling stations.
We have picked out some of our favourite photos from the day.
