The following cases were heard at magistrates courts in Swindon and Salisbury.

MARKET LAVINGTON: On Tuesday, June 18, Matthew Williams, of High Street, was sentenced for harassment.

The 52-year-old pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order by posting a YouTube video mentioning a victim and his family on February 3.

He was ordered to undergo 12 days of mental health treatment and fined £80.

Williams must also pay £85 in costs and a £114 surcharge.

WESTBURY: On Tuesday, June 18, Stephen Smith, of The Circle in Dilton Marsh, was sentenced for drink driving.

The 40-year-old pleaded guilty to driving in Warminster while the proportion of alcohol in his breath was 73 micrograms per 100 millilitres.

He was banned from driving for 19 months and fined £120.

Smith must also pay £85 in costs and a £48 surcharge.

DEVIZES: On Saturday, June 20, Gary Packer, of Roseland Avenue, was sentenced for drink driving.

The 55-year-old pleaded guilty to driving in Calne on February 24 while the proportion of alcohol in his breath was 104 micrograms per 100 millilitres.

He was ordered to undergo 12 days of mental health treatment, 100 hours of unpaid work, and was banned from driving for four years.

Packer must also pay £85 in costs and a £114 surcharge.

TROWBRIDGE: On Saturday, June 20, Samuel Oswin, of Sparrow Street, was sentenced for assaulting emergency workers.

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers by beating them on April 7 in Trowbridge, as well as using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on January 30.

He was ordered to abstain from consuming alcohol for 120 days and must pay £100 in compensation.

MELKSHAM: On Saturday, June 20, Philip Histead, of Barnard Street in Salisbury, was sentenced for assaulting an emergency worker.

The 54-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer by beating him on September 3 last year in Melksham.

He was ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

TROWBRIDGE: On Sunday, June 21, Levi Ross, of Serotine Crescent, was sentenced for assault, four counts of assaulting an emergency worker, and other offences.

The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable and a police officer in Charles Street, Trowbridge, on March 25, and a prison transport officer and a detention officer in Swindon on the same date.

Ross also pleaded guilty to assaulting another man by beating him in Trowbridge on March 27, and two counts of criminal damage on the same date.

He threw a bottle of wine onto a carpet belonging to his victim causing unknown damage, and also caused £35 worth of damage to the floor of Gablecross custody unit in Swindon.

The teenager was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and must undergo six months of drug rehabilitation.

HILPERTON: On Sunday, June 21, Tony Hewlett, of no fixed abode, was sentenced for breaching a closure order.

The 52-year-old pleaded guilty to remaining in or entering a premises in contravention of a closure order made for the purpose of stopping nuisance or disorder.

This offence took place on June 20 at an address in Bramley Lane, Trowbridge.

He was fined £100.

STEEPLE ASHTON: On Sunday, June 21, Joshua Galbraith, of Newleaze, was sentenced for driving on a public road while disqualified and without insurance.

The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit on Falcon Way in Melksham, on June 20, while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.

He also admitted to having no insurance for the car.

Galbraith was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison due to a “flagrant disregard” for court ordered.

He was also banned from driving for six years, two months, and a day.
