Frome Town Sports scored three goals in seven minutes to beat new boys Westbury United A 3-1 at a rain swept Gypsy Lane.
After the first half finished in a 0-0 stalemate, the opening five minutes of the second half saw Frome pushing hard for the opening goal and in John Bennett's case too hard as he was cautioned for simulation as he dived in the box.
Westbury then found themselves in front on 65 minutes as Mark Lanfear scored.
Frome then turned the match around in a devastating seven minute period with Aarron Baines scoring the equaliser on 76 minutes and three minutes later, with the Westbury defence in tatters, Joe Upshall made it 2-1. It became 3-1 after 83 minutes as Damien Edwards completed the scoring for Frome.
Steeple Ashton 6, FC Northbridge 5
STEEPLE Ashton grabbed the points from a sensational first home game of the season.
FC Northbridge made the better start, knocking the ball around, but Ashton struck first when Ullian Serafimov hit a 35 yarder that flew in.
FC Northbridge were then unlucky as a shot hit the post with Ashton goalkeeper Jones well beaten before a Sam Stevens's powerful run set up a chance for Dean Gumm to drill home the second from 15 yards.
James Starr then made it 2-1 after a missed header in the Ashton defence and he then made it 2-2 as yet more poor defending let him in.
FC Northbridge then took the lead as James Starr completed his hat-trick as he was left unmarked at a corner, but by half-time Ashton were back on level terms as a half cleared shot found its way to Dean Gumm and into the back of the net.
The second period saw FC Northbridge regain the lead as Liam Brown scored after yet more poor defending. The lead however was short lived as Dean Gumm completed his hat-trick to tie the match once more.
The last fifteen minutes saw more poor defending by Ashton and it was no surprise that FC Northbridge found themselves back in front as James Starr scored his fourth goal of the match. A bullet shot from Sam Stevens beat the FC Northbridge keeper to make it 5-5 and with only two minutes left he grabbed a second to make the final score 6-5 to Steeple Ashton.
