A Wiltshire shopping centre is to lose one of its flagship stores as the discount chain Poundland will not be renewing its lease.
The retail chain owned by Pep & Co Group is currently based at Unit 8 at The Shires shopping centre in Trowbridge.
Sarah Moore, manager of The Shires, said: “We are saddened to confirm that Poundland has decided not to renew their lease at the centre.
“Despite extensive negotiations, an agreement could not be reached.
“Looking forward, we are excited to welcome new businesses to The Shires in the coming months, enhancing the shopping experience for our community.”
The Shires is owned by London & Cambridge Properties, part of M’Core, and is managed through LCP’s Bristol office. It has 56 units occupying 123,703 sq ft of area.
Poundland opened its first store in Burton upon Trent in 1990 and now employs more than 18,000 people in a network of over 850 stores in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
It is not yet known when the store will close.
Poundland has been contacted for a comment.
The discount retailer has other Wiltshire stores in Chippenham, Devizes, Salisbury, Swindon (two) and Warminster, as well as nearby Bath, Frome and Radstock.
