A Trowbridge florist said she is ‘heartbroken” after the shop at which she works at was raided for the second time.

Police were called out early in the morning on Friday, June 28 following a repeat overnight raid at the absolutely Fabulous floristry shop in Church Walk in Trowbridge.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson told The Times a window was broken and the shop was "ransacked".

A window was also smashed at a previous raid over the May Bank Holiday weekend to enter the premises.

The police spokesperson also said a card reader is believed to have been stolen while florist Catherine Bolano said money from a charity pot was taken.

Catherine Bolano, a florist at the shop, said: “I am absolutely broken-hearted. I was called by the premises owner at 7.30am.

“The putty hadn’t even dried on the window that was replaced last week from the previous break-in. There was no money in the till and the card reader was taken. There was probably about £20 in the charity pots.

“I’m not usually a teary person but I shed a few tears this morning. I just can’t deal with this anymore.

“It’s not my business but I have been working for Natalie (the business owner) for 17 years. She is away on holiday at the moment and now she’s got to come back to this.”

Catherine said she was “totally disheartened” by the raid, which police believe happened overnight.

She added: “Somebody walking past rang the premises owner after 6am after noticing the side window had been smashed.

“The police were waiting for me when I got to work. They have been excellent and exceptionally patient.”

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We are investigating a report of a burglary at a florist in Church Walk, Trowbridge, which was reported shortly before 8am today.

“A window was broken and the shop was ransacked. A card reader is believed to have been stolen.  Enquiries are currently ongoing.

“Anyone with information should call 101 and quote log number 51 of June 28.”

The raid is the second one at the Absolutely Fabulous shop, with the last taking place on Sunday/Monday, May 27/28.

In that incident, a side window next to the front door was smashed and cash and a card machine were stolen. The card machine was later recovered.

On the same night, petty cash was also taken in a raid on May 28 at the Choice Care Ltd office premises in Church Walk just a few doors away.
