A lorry driver brought parts of Trowbridge to a standstill on Friday, June 21, by blocking a main road with his vehicle.

The HGV driver from KRL Logistics in Frome stopped his vehicle in Silver Street to pick up a pallet of equipment.

Traffic in Trowbridge town centre came to a standstill for 12 minutes at around 11am as the driver’s action caused a three-quarters of a mile jam.

With Wiltshire Council contractors replacing pavements in Fore Street and Wicker Hill, roads for through traffic are limited.

Drivers are having to use Manvers Street, Church Street, Silver Street, Roundstone Street, or Castle Street to exit the town centre.
