FOUR businesses have been given awards for helping to brighten up Trowbridge town centre as part of its summer-long flower festival.

They are Absolutely Fabulous Florists in Church Walk, the SILT Studio and Serenity Beauty and SASS Circus Space, all located in St George’s Works off Silver Street.

Each of the four winners won a silver cup, plus Serenity Beauty, chosen by Trowbridge Garden Centre, also won a £100 voucher.

Kez Garner, chair of Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce, the flower festival organisers, said: “We’ve seen people taking photos of the window displays.

“Trowbridge Town Council has also joined in the spirit of the festival by adding flowers to the planters in Fore Street and Roundstone Street.

“We are looking forward to trees being planted along Fore Street in the autumn thanks to the Future High Street Fund, which should really transform the pedestrian shopping area.”

Wiltshire’s High Sheriff Dr Olivia Chapple launched the Trowbridge Flower Festival, which runs throughout the summer.

Judging by Kez Garner, Trowbridge Mayor Cllr Stephen Cooper, Chris Wilde, the Manager of Trowbridge Garden Centre, and Tara Huntley from Forrester Sylvester Mackett Solicitors, took place on Saturday.

Kez Garner chose Absolutely Fabulous Florists and Natalie Carpenter for overall great presentation of their store, plus a very special floral installation in the window.

Jennifer Polledri, deputy chair of Trowbridge Chamber, presented Absolutely Fabulous Florists with the Chamber cup for best window display.

Trowbridge Mayor Cllr Stephen Cooper chose SILT Studio and Anna Chrystal Stephens for overall botanical work, ethos and presentation as his favourite window display.

Chris Wilde, of Trowbridge Garden Centre, chose Serenity Beauty and Skye O’Hara-Street for her attractively-decorated shopfront.

Skye said: “It is absolutely brilliant. It’s lovely being part of the trail because it helps to promote the businesses here in St George’s Works.”

Tara Huntley, of FSM Solicitors, chose SASS Circus Space Trowbridge and Amirah Omran for a fun and colourfully decorated entrance.

Absolutely Fabulous also created floral displays for the official launch of the festival at Parade House in Fore Street.

Around 50 businesses, charities and organisations are taking part in the Trowbridge Flower Festival which has brought so much colour and vibrancy to the town centre.

Families have started taking part in the flower festival trail with their children.  Their challenge is to collect the numbers displayed at each of the venues and email the total for a chance to win prizes.
