The work is part of a refresh at the Tesco Extra superstore to improve the shopping experience for its customers.

A spokesperson said they anticipate the work will be completed in the early autumn and will keep the local community updated as the works progress.

For the next few weeks, the store’s trading hours will be shorter. It will open from Monday to Thursday from 6am to 9pm.

On Friday and Saturday it will open from 6am to 12 midnight, and on Sunday, June 16 only from 9am to 3pm. On all the following Sundays it will open from 10am to 4pm.

The store pharmacy will open from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, June 16 but will then return to normal trading hours from 9am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
