Plans have been submitted to allow the conversion of vacant former offices in a Wiltshire town centre into dozens of homes.
In 2021, Wiltshire Council approved a proposal to transform the office blocks at 1-4 Avon Heights, on Monkton Hill in Chippenham, into 25 new residential flats.
Construction at the riverside site, which formerly comprised a wide range of different office spaces, is currently ongoing and the building is in the process of being converted into flats.
These works include interior restructuring, compliance with building regulations specific to residential habitation, and minor external alterations to support the new use.

Now developer Cooke Cardiff Ltd has lodged a planning application for part-retrospective external alterations to the property, to support the development.
These include modifications to the building’s facade to improve its structural integrity and energy efficiency.
The firm says the latest update to the scheme is “essential” if they are to deliver the homes on time, in compliance with building regulations, and without significantly altering the external character of the building.
The proposal is currently undergoing a public consultation which will run until Thursday, June 6.
Wiltshire Council has a deadline of Wednesday, June 19 to issue a decision on the plans.
