A major route into Trowbridge town centre will be closed as the next phase of a project designed to improve routes for pedestrians starts.
Manvers Street, Fore Street and Wicker Hill are all being revamped due to a £16m project from the Future High Street Fund.
Wicker Hill, from Manvers Street to Town Bridge, will be closed to all traffic while footpaths are widened and street furniture is installed until the start of September.
Most of the work is expected to take place six days a week from 7am to 7pm and there will be a diversion route in place, according to Wiltshire Council.
Road resurfacing will likely be undertaken overnight towards the end of the project.

The plans to manage traffic and reduce disruption while the work is being done include a reversal of the one-way system of Manvers Street and alternative bus stops.
During this time, repairs will also be made to the highway drainage system and some resurfacing will be completed, which is likely to be carried out overnight closer to the end of the schedule.
Businesses in the area will be open as usual, however the access to them may be restricted due to the work taking place.
The work is expected to be complete by late summer this year.
