Organisers of the first Trowbridge Jobs Fair have hailed the event as a “great success” after hundreds of job hunters attended.

The town’s job fair was staged at The Civic Centre with nearly 30 exhibitors displaying job vacancies and opportunities for apprenticeships.

Organiser Stuart Wright, of Job Fairs South West, said: “We are super excited to hold our first ever Trowbridge Jobs Fair this May.

“We had just under 600 people attending and 29 exhibitors. This is the first event we have held in Trowbridge and it was a great success.

“We have had a lot of positive feedback from the exhibitors and have been asked by the National Careers Service to hold one in Chippenham.”

“The organisers had 548 people attend and we had over 300 people that expressed interest and scanned our QR code.

“We hope to take some people on, although they will have to go through the interview process.

“We are currently recruiting for a new home care service in Bath and are just waiting for it to be given Care Quality Commission approval.”

“Lots of vacancies and apprenticeships were available, plus training and support service. It’s the perfect opportunity to speak face-to-face with recruitment teams," Wright said.

He added: “At Job Fairs South West we pride ourselves on holding a reputation for connecting job seekers with employers as well as valuable resources and support throughout the job-hunting journey.”

Visitors were able to get help and advice from experts, learn about new opportunities in a wide variety of sectors, meet employers face-to-face and ask questions with hiring managers and recruiters.

The organisers have previously held Job Fairs in Somerset and are now expanding into Devon, Dorset and Wiltshire.

Their next Job Fair South West event will be at the Lighthouse Centre in Poole, Dorset, on Thursday, May 16, from 10.3am to 2.30pm.
